US warns Syria on Missile Transfer

Senior diplomat of Syria has been cited over transferring Scud missiles to Hezbollah group.United States named this Syrian activity as a terror outfit.

The US considered ‘transfer of missiles’ as a matter of concern, as this may threaten Israel and Lebanon.The US officials have called this move as ‘provocative’.

A government spokeperson,Gordon Duguid has said “The United States condemns in the strongest terms the transfer of any arms, and especially ballistic missile systems such as the Scud, from Syria to Hezbollah,”.

“The transfer of these arms can only have a destabilising effect on the region, and would pose an immediate threat to both the security of Israel and the sovereignty of Lebanon.” he added.

However, Damascus has denied any such involvement in missile transfer. The identity of the Syrian diplomat was also not revealed. They beleived it could be Israel’s accusation.

There seems to be growing relations between United States and Syria, under Obama’s rule as a president.
According to the department of state, Washington had been interfering with Syrian Embassy over such issues very frequently.
