Resonance in the Qur'an

Allah says in Soorah Al-Qaria’h,

“What is the Resonator?”

“And what you understood what is the Resonator?”

In these ayaat, Allah familiarizes us with the features of the As-Soor that will start destruction of the universe. This Soor has been hold by the angel Asrafeel alaihi ssalam between his lips. He has put his ear to the order of Allah. When Allah will order, he will blow air in the Soor. It will destroy whole universe by its sound. The destruction by the sound appeared impossible in those times of revelation. But now the scientific discoveries has established the fact that even just sound can cause destruction in an object.

Every body has an elastic limit. Within this limit, the body restores its shape and size if deformed. But once this limit is crossed, there is a permanent deformation set up in the body to some extent after the release of the force. If the deformation goes beyond its yield point, the body starts necking. Necking means its cross sectional area starts decreasing till a point come when it breaks into two parts.

In the resonance, when the amplitude becomes high, the deformation crosses the yield point even. Also this deformation is throughout the body in all the directions. Thus every bond of molecules is under the effect of resonance. The object fails on the points where there is absence of material. That is why it is disallowed to the parade marching team to stop marching on the bridges. Because if by any co-incidence, the frequency of marching matched the natural frequency of the bridge, it may fail.

Same way the universe will destroy by just sound as the sound will cover all the frequency bands thus matching every object’s natural frequency.

Further explanation id given in next two ayaat.  They are telling us how severe will be the destruction.

“That day, human beings will become like insects lying scattered.”

“And the rocks will become like the many-colour fibers of wool.”

Thus we can say that the destruction will be widespread and up to lowest level of atom or may be even less. A clear indication has been given by the words many-colour fibers of wool. This indicates about the atomic bonding.

Also the effect of vibration waves is hidden in the words “insects lying scattered”. This tells us that the vibration will cause zigzag destruction is same way as the insects are scattered when the location of their rest is vibrated.
