Hadith from Sahih Bukhari which mentions about status of true friends of Almighty Allah:

“... and My slave keeps on coming closer to Me through performing Nawafil till I love him, so I become his sense of hearing with which he hears, and his sense of sight with which he sees, and his hand with which he grips, and his leg with which he walks; and if he asks Me, I will give him, and if he asks My protection (Refuge), I will protect him; and I do not hesitate to do anything as I hesitate to take the soul of the believer, for he hates death, and I hate to disappoint him."
-- (Sahih Bukhari, Book 76, Hadith 509)

Companion Of Prophet(Peace be upon him) Knew He will Die:
Narrated Jabir(Radiyallahu Anhu): When the time of the battle of uhud approached, my father called me at night and said, "I think that I will be the first amongst the companions of the Prophet to be martyred. I do not leave anyone after me dearer to me than you, except Allah's Apostle's soul and I owe some debt and you should repay it and treat your sisters favorably (nicely and politely)." So in the morning he was the first to be martyred and was buried along with another (martyr). I did not like to leave him with the other (martyr) so I took him out of the grave after six months of his burial and he was in the same condition as he was on the day of burial, except a slight change near his ear.
--(Sahih Bukhari, Book 23, Hadith 434)

Hazrat Umar {radiallah tallah anhu} Warns Army General who is thousands of Miles Away Narrated by Hazrat Ibn Umar(Radiyallahu Anhu) : "Hadrat Umar sent Hadrat Saariya to Nahaawind as the commander of an army. While performing a Khutba in Madina, he began to proclaim, "Saariya !Take the mountain!" After some time, a messenger from that army arrived and said, "The enemies were just about to defeat us when we heard a voice say, "Saariya Take that mountain!"  So we put our backs towards the mountain and Almighty Allah gave them defeat.
